Lee ahora esto;
Lee ahora esto;
él dira: No sé leer.

Por tanto, he aquí que nuevamente excitaré yo la admiración de este pueblo con un prodigio grande y espantoso;

~Isaias

A Chapter 29 Alma 29:1 1 O that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God, with a voice to shake the earth, and cry repentance unto every people!

Alma 29:2 2 Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth.

A' Alma 29:7 7 Why should I desire that I were an angel, that I could speak unto all the ends of the earth?

A'a Alma 29:8 8 For behold, the Lord doth grant unto all nations, of their own nation and tongue, to teach his word, yea, in wisdom, all that he seeth fit that they should have; therefore we see that the Lord doth counsel in wisdom, according to that which is just and true.

A'a' Alma 29:17 17 And now may God grant unto these, my brethren, that they may sit down in the kingdom of God; yea, and also all those who are the fruit of their labors that they may go no more out, but that they may praise him forever.

And may God grant that it may be done according to my words, even as I have spoken.

Amen.

Alma 29:17 Y ahora conceda Dios que estos mis hermanos se sienten en el reino de Dios; sí, y también todos aquellos que son el fruto de sus obras, para que ya no salgan más, sino que lo alaben para siempre;

A'b Alma 29:9A 9A I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it.

Alma 29:9B 9B I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.

Alma 29:10A 10A And behold, when I see many of my brethren truly penitent, and coming to the Lord their God, then is my soul filled with joy;

Alma 29:10A Y he aquí, cuando veo a muchos de mis hermanos verdaderamente arrepentidos, y que vienen al Señor su Dios, mi alma se llena de gozo;

A'b' Alma 29:14 14 But I do not joy in my own success alone, but my joy is more full because of the success of my brethren, who have been up to the land of Nephi.

Alma 29:15 15 Behold, they have labored exceedingly, and have brought forth much fruit; and how great shall be their reward!

Alma 29:16 16 Now, when I think of the success of these my brethren my soul is carried away, even to the separation of it from the body, as it were, so great is my joy.

✡  A'c Alma 29:10B 10B then do I remember what the Lord has done for me, yea, even that he hath heard my prayer; yea, then do I remember his merciful arm which he extended towards me.

ᓇ NOTE: Here, Alma's wish/desire to be magnified as an angel with a trump of God, will deprive his brethren of the delegated priesthood responsibilities. What would they do, if the angel did all their work for them; depriving them of the struggle and the partnership with their Lord? The answer is that the Lord works by means and men who have an opportunity to develop through missionary work and their successes small or great. This answer is found in the nested minor Menorah segment verses 8-17 at the right of verses 1 and 2. Note also: wishes predominate the left side of the major Menorah segment and know or knowledge of the left side in the minor Menorah which is in the right side of the major Menorah segment.

Alma 29:9B 9B I/They do not glory of myself/theirselves, but I/They glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my/their glory, that perhaps I/They may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.

This is why this is a nested Menorah.

Alma 29:2 2 Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth.

(Alma is full of sorrow because of the loss of life, after a very sore battle. He knows through Christ our burdens can be lifted. Alma wishes to fly like an angel with a voice of a trumpet, and proclaim repentance to every people. If we have the voice of thunder and cry repentance and the plan of redemption to stop the sorrow. Will this wish of Alma really stop the sorrow? )

Alma 29:7 7 Why should I desire that I were an angel, that I could speak unto all the ends of the earth?

( Now he knows a better desire. And God will show him wisdom, to accomplish the plan of redemption. )

Alma 29:8 8 For behold, the Lord doth grant unto all nations, of their own nation and tongue, to teach his word, yea, in wisdom, all that he seeth fit that they should have; therefore we see that the Lord doth counsel in wisdom, according to that which is just and true.

( God is a just God, and will give his word to all nations in their own understanding or tongue. And it will be done by those who have the desire to this work. )

Alma 29:17 17 And now may God grant unto these, my brethren, that they may sit down in the kingdom of God; yea, and also all those who are the fruit of their labors that they may go no more out, but that they may praise him forever.

And may God grant that it may be done according to my words, even as I have spoken.

Amen.

Alma 29:17 Y ahora conceda Dios que estos mis hermanos se sienten en el reino de Dios; sí, y también todos aquellos que son el fruto de sus obras, para que ya no salgan más, sino que lo alaben para siempre;

( Alma acknowledges the work of his brethren and their converts and blesses them and prophecies concerning their future, as the prophet he is. He knows his calling is to do this: To teach, to preach, to bless, to have joy in them. )

Alma 29:9A 9A I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it.

Alma 29:9B 9B I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.

Alma 29:10A 10A And behold, when I see many of my brethren truly penitent, and coming to the Lord their God, then is my soul filled with joy;

Alma 29:10A Y he aquí, cuando veo a muchos de mis hermanos verdaderamente arrepentidos, y que vienen al Señor su Dios, mi alma se llena de gozo;

( Our joy/glory should be in being an instrument in the hands of God, seeing many souls repent and come to Him. )

Alma 29:14 14 But I do not joy in my own success alone, but my joy is more full because of the success of my brethren, who have been up to the land of Nephi.

( Alma's greatest joy is in the success of his brethren in their work. See Doctrine and Covenants
18:13-16
And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth! Wherefore, you are called to cry repentance unto this people. And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father! And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me!
)

✡  Alma 29:10B 10B then do I remember what the Lord has done for me, yea, even that he hath heard my prayer; yea, then do I remember his merciful arm which he extended towards me.

Alma 29:11 11 Yea, and I also remember the captivity of my fathers;

Alma 29:11 Sí, y me acuerdo también de la cautividad de mis padres;

  • for I surely do know that the Lord
  • porque ciertamente sé que el Señor

    • did deliver them out of bondage,
    • los libró de la servidumbre,

      • and by this did establish his church; yea, the Lord God, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, did deliver them out of bondage.

Alma 29:12 12 Yea, I have always remembered the captivity of my fathers; and

  • that same God who delivered them out of the hands of the Egyptians

    Alma 29:12 Sí, siempre he recordado el cautiverio de mis padres, y ese mismo Dios que los libró de las manos de los egipcios,

    • did deliver them out of bondage.

      los libró de la servidumbre.

      • Alma 29:13 13 Yea, and that same God did establish his church among them;

        Alma 29:13 Sí, y ese mismo Dios estableció su iglesia entre ellos,

yea, and

sí, y

  • that same God hath called me by a holy calling,

    • to preach the word unto this people,

      • and hath given me much success, in the which my joy is full.

(Alma remembers how God delivers men physically and spiritualy by establishing His church and calling men to serve, by preaching, by teaching, by example and that give him/them joy. )

Alma 29:3 3 But behold, I am a man, and do sin in my wish; for I ought to be content with the things which the Lord hath allotted unto me.

(Alma realizes he is only a man, and should be happy to be allowed to serve God as a man with the voice of a man. )

Alma 29:6 6 Now, seeing that I know these things, why should I desire more than to perform the work to which I have been called?

( Here knowledge replaces wishes, and our desire should be to do His work His way. )

✡  29:4 4 I ought not to harrow up in my desires, the firm decree of a just God,

  • for I know that he granteth unto men

    porque sé que él concede a los hombres

    • according to their desire,

      según lo que deseen,

      • whether it be unto death or unto life;

        ya sea (de si) para muerte o para vida;

  • yea, I know that he allotteth unto men, yea, decreeth unto them decrees which are unalterable,

    • according to their wills,

      según la voluntad de ellos,

      • whether they be unto salvation or unto destruction.

  • Alma 29:5 5 Yea, and I know that good and evil have come before all men; he that knoweth not good from evil is blameless; but he that knoweth good and evil, to him it is given

    • according to his desires,

      según sus deseos,

      • whether he desireth good or evil, life or death, joy or remorse of conscience.

( Be careful what you wish or desire, that it may be according to God's decrees, because we are free to choose, and are granted according to our desires. Even if it is not to our own best interest or our salvation. See Doctrine and Covenants Section 4:3 Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work; )

Part Four:

MENORAH OF SCRIPTURE

A candlestick was made of a talent of gold after a pattern revealed to Moses. Gold then, as it is today has worth in the monetary system. The value of this specific candlestick could be an emphasis to its spiritual value. It had a place in the temple and provided seven lights to it's interior. And because there were seven light sources, each object would have six additional shadows besides the one shadow from the center candle. There is three lamps on either side of the center lamp. Also, it's heavenly pattern is a type or a model to see things through this design. The revealed shape and construction was to be a model or paradigm if you will, for much of the communications or light given to man through the scriptures. Next is the citation concerning the Menorah as found in the Book of Exodus:

Imagine the interior of the temple while the Candlestick or Menorah is producing seven points of light on every object in it's radiated beams. How many shadows will be produced? No one was allowed to block the light coming from this light source called the Menorah. “And it giveth light unto all that are in the house,” as Jesus has said. Should there not be a type in this, to guide how we view the things of God in the temple as symbolized by all these things? It is believed here that there are seven levels to all prophetic scripture--if not in all the scriptures.

A figurative Menorah and it's ideogram is presented below:

The Menorah will be represented in this book (SEARCH ISAIAH) and en El Libro de Mormon symbolically by the following ideogram:

LITERARY MENORAHS OF SCRIPTURE

Isaiah has traditional demarcations or logical bundlings, which are similar to the modern paragraph, but they have an extended parallelism. The scriptures of Isaiah are arranged in the form of a symbolic candlestick or Menorah in this treatise. We believe that Isaiah may be best understood and studied, within these units/bundles/Selahs ( סלה ), for clarity and continuity of theme:

✡

The preceding ideogram is used to represent the literary menorah, to show the pattern of thought proposed in this treatise, to display Isaiah underlying presentation of his vision(s). Though reversed in some cases, the left side is the general statement bundles (selah סלה )* of poetry, and the right side is the particular statement bundles of poetry. Some of the literary menorahs are not always seven individual lights, there can be less or more in number. When the Menorah has an odd number of bundles, there is a center, which will be a synthesis of the ideas or themes of the literary bundles (selah סלה ). The synthesis or center will be termed an EYE: Eyes Represents Understanding. (Remember Isaiah lived in Jerusalem.)

When there is an even number of literary bundles (selah סלה ) the diagram results in a balance as the next ideogram illustrates: This represents a marriage of male and female concepts to produce knowledge:

This balance is like the balance of gravity between two bodies in space orbiting about each other, but never spiraling down to a full synthesis. These balances can also be called equations and/or equivalences in which one is to ponder or weigh in the mind.

Understanding

Isaiah 28:9-13

9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? [them that are] weaned from the milk, [and] drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little: 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. 12 To whom he said, This [is] the rest [wherewith] ye may cause the weary to rest; and this [is] the refreshing: yet they would not hear. 13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

READING ISAIAH THROUGH A PRISM

A physical prism will refract light from the sun into a spectrum of colors, which are seen in the rainbow, when the sun shines through the rain. Paradigm(s) or prism(s) or pyramid(s) or shadow(s) will channel thought into a splay of thought, like the bow of the rainbow. Before each Menorah, it is suggested to read or know the Pyramid that we used, to view this literary section of Isaiah. The reader may not see the same thing as we did, but to give the reader the source of our perspective, it should be helpful to know the reading pattern, used in this thesis to search Isaiah's writing. You do not need to do this, but it is offered to explain our view point. You can try both ways in selecting a prism. Whether you use the Pyramid suggested or you go into the reading with your own internal prism, it is the readers choice. However, there is always a prism or paradigm present in searching the words of Isaiah—yours, ours, or if you find it, Isaiah's prism. The authors have found the thinking systems of, FUTURLOGICS © 1983 and the PYRAMIDS OF GOD © 2007, most effective in sensing the code to search into Isaiah's writing. This is however our thinking; it is how our minds have worked since childhood. And it has been very productive in searching out the things of Isaiah--the “Ancient Futurist.” We hope that it will be as productive for you.

Menorah principle used on modern scripture:

Next is Section 9 of the Doctrine and Covenants presented in Menorah form to illustrate the Menorah principle on modern scripture:

Doctrine and Covenants -- Section 9 -- Section 9 in Reformatted in Menorah Form

Selah(s) take from the 1833 Libro de Commandments Chapter VIII

Doctrine and Covenants 9:1-2

1 Behold, I say unto you, my son, that because you did not translate according to that which you desired of me, and did commence again to write for my servant, Joseph Smith, Jun. , even so I would that ye should continue until you have finished this record, which I have entrusted unto him. 2 And then, behold, other records have I, that I will give unto you power that you may assist to translate.

Doctrine and Covenants 9:13-14

13 Do this thing which I have commanded you, and you shall prosper. Be faithful, and yield to no temptation. 14 Stand fast in the work wherewith I have called you, and a hair of your head shall not be lost, and you shall be lifted up at the last day. Amen.

Doctrine and Covenants 9:3-6

3 Be patient, my son, for it is wisdom in me, and it is not expedient that you should translate at this present time. 4 Behold, the work which you are called to do is to write for my servant Joseph. 5 And, behold, it is because that you did not continue as you commenced, when you began to translate, that I have taken away this privilege from you. 6 Do not murmur, my son, for it is wisdom in me that I have dealt with you after this manner.

Doctrine and Covenants 9:10-12

10 Now, if you had known this you could have translated; nevertheless, it is not expedient that you should translate now. 11 Behold, it was expedient when you commenced; but you feared, and the time is past, and it is not expedient now; 12 For, do you not behold that I have given unto my servant Joseph sufficient strength, whereby it is made up? And neither of you have I condemned.

✡

Doctrine and Covenants 9:7-9

7 Behold, you have not understood; you have supposed that I would give it unto you, when you took no thought save it was to ask me. 8 But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your mind; then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right. 9 But if it be not right you shall have no such feelings, but you shall have a stupor of thought that shall cause you to forget the thing which is wrong; therefore, you cannot write that which is sacred save it be given you from me.

Modern scriptures presented in Menorah form will be more familiar to begin our study, and it can give the reader the sense of this kind of scriptural templates. If you wish to practice with them, there are more examples of the scriptures of the Doctrine and Covenants rendered in Menorah form in Appendix B. Also in Candlestick form is the Libro de Revelation by John in Appendix F. as found in the authors book SEARCH ISAIAH.

We will only present a lesser portion of the things we found. The plan is to “jump start” your spiritual engine, then you do the rest. That is, to put the wind under your wings.
